It was bad. Like, really bad. We had a mission, great. But those people were dead. For sure.
‘There’s NO WAY I’m going after dead people! I don’t like zombies!’
Jack laughed.
‘No, I mean it. I’m pretty sure the baby is a zombie. I have the picture stuck in my head. And it’s creepy. I want it to go away. Leave me alone, creepy baby!’
‘I actually think he’s cute,’ Jack said. ‘Look at his little face.’
‘Maybe. But still. I don’t like zombies.’
We remained silent for a while. Zombies were super scary. But fun at the same time. You know what I mean? Well if you don’t, it’s okay. I’m used to hearing people say I’m weird.
‘What if we go meet her for real? It could be helpful.’
Why did I say that? No idea. The words had just slipped out of my mouth.
It was too late though. Jack was already thinking about it, and I could tell he was going to…
‘Agreed. We could get more information about what she wants us to do. That way we’ll see if she’s really crazy.’
‘Right. Let me check the address on the Internet.’
Of course it was on the other side of town. Which means something when you’re talking about Phoenix. We had to tell our Mom about the whole thing. She was probably already spying on us from the top of the staircase anyway!
